I recently rented a Dell Inspirion with Windows Vista and DX10 and on downloading the Corsix Studios mod or editor, I find that it will no longer work. The starting page comes up asking which file you would like to load, Dark Crusade, Winter Assault, etc., then when I select DOW Dark Crusade, and the box asks for language and use local folder and I hit this, instead of being taken to the section where you have Attributes, EBS, Races, etc in which values and numbers can be changed, I get an entirely strange window to the side which lists programs other than Corsix for Dark Crusade. The main window or box lists DOW Dark Crusade at the top and at the bottom is another box asking which program to load. This never happened with my old computer and Windows XP. The name Dark Crusade is not present in any of the listings and the closest I can come to this is something containg a bunch of numbers and mod or something like that. When I launch the program using this, I get an error that the Windows encountered some sort of problem and the program will be closed. Has anyone else experienced this? And can anyone help me out on this. Without the ability to mod DC and up my troop numbers, resources, etc., the game is no longer of any value to me. I've heard others complain about Windows Vista and DX 10 and if I encounter this in future programs, I think I'll return the computer and find something else.

The reason it doens't work, is becaues you'r using Windows Vista, as you should know Windows Vista does use another Operating system, than the XP version, that's why it gives you some trouble.

Thanks Flamer, I've since concluded the computer I mentioned wasn't for me and let the store have it back in March. In June I rented a Dell XPX 410 which is much more to my liking and has the power I want. I've had some problems with Vista, especially when it comes to finding things. They aren't all in one place and as easy to find as with the old versions of windows. I did solve the afore mentioned problem, however, thanks for the info and I'll take all I can get since I'm a novice when it comes to Windows Vista.

Well I did know that there were differences in operating systems, and mainly wondered how to get the tools to work with WIndows Vista. How I did this I can't remember. Maybe it was by accident, I really don't know. Now that I suffered a windows crash and had to start over the Corsix tools are no longer working as before and darned if I know how to get them going again. Everything works fine up until I tell it to use locale and then it refuses to continue saying it can't copy or read or something like that from lnk file. My CSX tools are in Unzipped. I've written Corsix himself, but he's so busy discussing DOW 2 that he hasn't gotten back to me and maybe never will. Without these tools, I won't be using any of the games anymore much less buying DOW 2.

That has nothing to do with the Corsix Mod, it's a lack of lang files, in you'r game folder.'
    Reinstall.
