Hi guys, I've been lurking for a while trying to learn about the cheat mod that Caboose has worked on (thx Caboose, btw).

I'm having a problem that others here have complained about, and thought I'd open a thread to see if anyone can help those of us who can't get the mod to work.

I get the "file...Binaries/mod.txt not found" error message when I try to use the in-game console exec command. The mod to get the console obviously works, and I've copied the command lines straight from Caboose's thread, saved the mod.txt file in the root Binaries folder, but it still doesn't work. Why would it not be able to "find" the mod.txt file?

I don't think it's a matter of mis-typing anything either because the error message specifically says that the mod.txt file can't be found, not that a command inside the file is wrong.

I've run the update from the official game website, and I've fixed the registry key too. So, I'm wondering, is there something obvious we're not doing right, or is it simply hit or miss? Something with LIVE maybe? Perhaps there's a dumb-downed version of instructions for the layman, someone who doesn't know wtf they're doing? (I'm not that bad, but sometimes it's just a tiny little missed step or an assumption by the author of the steps to take, that if not done properly, screws the whole thing up.)

    Anyway, thanks again.

    Any help is greatly appreciated.

Maybe your game has insufficient access rights to the folder? (Cough... Vista...) and are you sure that you've entered the name correctly? I'm not sure but maybe it's case sensitive? Like, if you named it Mod.txt and entered in the game mod.txt then maybe it can't find it?

Oh, and bjcdh06, that's most likely a driver issue...

I'm in XP SP2 and the console seems to work fine but the cheats for god at least give "unrecognized class WarefareGame.Pawn_CPGMarcus or Dom" errors. Doesn't matter which \binaries folder I put Cheats.txt in if I use it or if I manually enter a cheat.

I've posted 3 times now... Time to wait or time to die?

Not a driver issue as I have the latest video card drivers for my 8800gt, any more ideas would be great.

you probably called it mod.txt but you should only call it mod
but because its a .txt file you have to add the .txt part when you use the exec command.

now that you called it mod.txt the command would have to be exec mod.txt.txt for it to work.

    hope i made sense here.

Yes you usually DON'T need to add the file format with the name unless if you're switching the format.
