I heard that Mods for this game is very complicated.

As I played this game, I realized that this game is really open ended with the modding system. Looks like you can get any GFF editor and edit your stats even appearance and so forth. For people that are familiar with Dungeon Siege 2 and Neverwinter Nights, this is similar. NWN was made by Atari and Witcher was also made by Atari. They have a similar sort of "override" folder that can contain mods.

I am not a very technical person nor do I have the time to make cheats and mods but tell me, why is it so difficult for people to make the mods for this game, the Witcher?

I'd like to have some mods to change the look of a sword, maybe my characters, and etc. Anyone have any clues?

I'd be interested in modding this game as well, esp. since it's based on the NWN engine. Anyone know where to start?

Well I know that you can get some sort of editor that will let you edit your stats, your appearance and many others. Its called GFFEditor. I'm not sure if it will be compatible with The Witcher but if it runs on a NWN engine(which seems to be the case), this editor should work.

    For example
    .2da files are for appearance.
    BIF files
    BLK files
    and etc.

I'm looking for a mod where it will be user friendly and can be used to modify saves.
GFFEditor is easily used to modify saves on NWN2.

Here is one of the few mods out right now:

very simple, not very helpful in my opinion

Here's a link to the witcher wiki. It shows step by step how to mod certain things. I played around with it a bit but didn't get very good results. But I didn't try very hard either. I was just playin with it.

I wonder if there'll release a toolset for this game. I heard that there were plans, but who knows?

The Witcher runs off the NWN 1 enginge, so im geussing you could just use that editor, slightly modded to mod The Witcher.
