Yeah. You need to press the numpad key 5. Those aren't mapped to anything. Make sure your number lock is on. Press your skill option (numpad 5) while you are playing the game. Not at the main menu and not at the character select screen. The only thing you need to press outside of playing the game is F1 at the main menu. And that's only to activate the trainer so the other options work in game.
And the skill points don't show up right away. The way I do it is press the numpad 5 key to get extra points. Then I use a few points that I already had. Once I use that point my skill pool resets to the higher "trained" amount. My advice is to always keep at least 1 skill point in reserve so you can use this option.
