Some are purple, some are green and the sides are open. With turrets.

The purple ones are the Covenant loyalists and the green ones are the elite phantoms.

the green phantoms ,the open sides with turrets ,and now instead of just coming out of nowhere you can actually see the covenant in the phantom before they come out(you get a headstart on the killing)

You couldn't see into the ****pit in Halo CE but you could in Halo 2. And I think Halo 2 was also the first time any Pelicans ever used weapons in combat.

halo ce the pelicans had weapons but they were tiny little wuss guns in halo 2 they gave the pelicans heavy machine guns

halo ce the sides of the pelican has MARINES written on the side and in halo 2 there was an extention thingy hanging kinda of the back with MARINES written on it
