Is this game first person? third person? Side scrolling fight game?

or what? I LOVE Oblivion and the ease with which you were able to switch from first person showing only a weapon and third person, directly behind. The game sounds like a lot of fun.

If you've ever played any Neverwinter Nights game, then you know how it is. Third person, focused on the character.

man i don't relly think you asociated relly good here,i mean there is the camera above the char that is something like the one on NwN and there is OTS(Over the shoulder) a third person camera, but is not really like NwN in NwN you can have party, here you work and fight alone

Men fear death as children fear to go in the dark; and as that natural fear in children is increased by tales, so is the other.

so... is it an over the shoulder? over the head from behind (like Oblivion), or more like Diablo from 3/4 GOOFY ASS ANGLE.

Oblivion's Vanity cam is the most likely of those three. But, why on earth don't you either look at screenshots or download the demo?

I looked at the screen shots... they were useless. Read PC Gamer review, it said nothing. I thought I would ask a simple question here, BEFORE I dump a load of CRAP on my computer. Diablo type view 3/4 or whatever they call it, drive me NUTZ!

I think the 3 different views provided in The Witcher will match with wath you like.

1st view : It is a 3rd person view still very near (1-2 meters). It allows you to move with Keyboard and mouse. When you run, the camera follows the witcher like in Gears of war, I mean in a static way, that gives you the feeling to feel every shake from the running/action. Its pretty good, though I am myself a real FPS and Oblivion fan. Camera turns very very fast.

2nd view : This time it is a middle view (7-9 meters). This view allows you to control your witcher by keyboard or by Cliking system ! Like in Diablo. But the mouse system is very limited because you cant really move the camera enough fast to move during action.
3d view : same system as before exept longer (10 -12 meters) which allows you to see more of the (battle)field and play more with the mouse. This view is more like the Diablo view too.

But as for 2nd and 3d view dont believe it looks like diablo!
the camera is still in 3rd person view just longer. The camera wont be free or in a corner of the room or map lol. It looks very great and its like playing Oblivion in the longest view you can have. You see every detail and every opponent

Get the game. Menu and gameplay is really fascinating and allows a lot of manipulations, but still easy too use. The best thing is that you can use the menus (inventory, evolutions, quests, map and others)very very quickly and easily , so it isnt like in Oblivion where it is personnaly a hell to navigate through the menus... Thats what I mostly hated about Oblivion. The dialogs, action and story are better in The Witcher, as oppening of game place and the variety of NPs are a still better nin Oblivion.

    Hope to have helped you
