I'm playing on a laptop and when i try to run trainers the "F" keys don't work. they don't work on my father's laptop either. both laptops are HP's. Is it just me?

To remedy the problem I'm considering getting a wireless keyboard, has anyone tried this?

Help me out.

Does the keyboard have a Fn key? If so, press them and try again to hit the hotkeys while playing.

I tried the function key but it still didn't work. when i use the "F" keys alone, i hear the "activated" sound but it doesn't register in the game. example: F1 should give me ultimate manpower.

I press F1 and immediately hear "Activated"
I look down at my manpower and nothing has changed.

I would think that it just didn't register on my controls, but when I use the trainer on my desktop computer, it always works and shows up in the manpower "area."

Do you think it would be a safe bet to try a wireless keyboard on the laptop? 🤔

That's weird... I have a laptop and i can get the trainer to work. Do you have any antivirus in your laptop? If so, maybe it blocks the trainer.

last night I went out and got a wireless keyboard and that doesn't even help. I'll try the anti-virus thing. I've also looked at the cheat happens trainer troubleshooting page so I'm running it as Administrator and in compatibility mode.

but that seems to be causing some problems as well because the game crashes about every third time I start it too...

FYI: I just started downloading other trainers for the game to see if they would work and I found one that did! WooHoo

so, no one figured out how to fix this? i have the same problem, it says ''activated'' but nothing happens... there's no a definitive solution?

I just checked the version of the game (I didn't download any patches so it was the original for me) and downloaded the appropriate trainer for that version and it works most of the time. Every once in a while it won't but I just go through the steps of opening the trainer program and restarting the game and it works then.

The wierd thing about my situation was that when I was playing on my desktop, before I got the laptop, I had downloaded a different version of the trainer than the game I was using and it worked perfectly, but it didn't work with the laptop.

If all else fails, I suggest you reinstall the game and download the first version of the trainer, unfortunately that may not fix the problem, but it did for me.

I use the wireless keyboard because I like it better than the laptop, but both of them work now that I have the right version.

My problem is that I'm still having trouble with a couple of other games and their corresponding trainers, but I haven't worked on that in a while. Good luck, it this doesn't work, I don't know what to tell you, and apparently nobody else does either.
