From this site under "trainers":
With the original version of the game, without patches, I'm using "Trainer" I think it's number 12 on the trainer download page. In the description it says "for the original (unpatched) version of the game" or something like that. But it also looks like the "Mega Trainer," number 13 would also work for the original version, and it has more options.
I think that if you're using the unpatched version, that one of those will work. If it doesn't, I don't know what to tell you, maybe Pwizard could help.

If you customize your trainer's keys to fit your keys on your laptop, the trainers should work just fine that is if you have version 2.101 and up.
If the earlier trainer versions have an icon that says Customizable then download the software and change your keys as stated.
