Here's the readme on the options:

Using this Trainer
------------------
Launch the trainer first, then launch the Game and then Press F1 at the Main Menu.
Listen for "Activated".

Press desired option key



Options
-------
For the following options, you can activate in the main
ship movement screen and they will update instantly.

Numpad 0: Credits
Numpad 1: NanoBot
Numpad 2: Materials
Numpad 3: Crystals
Numpad 4: Minerals
Numpad 5: Energy
Numpad 6: Plasma

For the following options, you can activate in the main
but then you must select a captain (or his ship) for it
to modify that specific captain.

Numpad 7: Level
Numpad 8: Experience
Numpad 9: Energy
Numpad Del: Attack
Numpad +: Defense
Numpad -: Power
Numpad /: Technology

sweetness, I'll give it a whirl

Um, first post for me. The trainer worked great, but I did notice one thing. The money/minerals will update instantly, but if you go to a starbase for example, it will revert to what it was before. This can be solved by using the trainer to increase the figures, then ending the turn. This is not a complaint for the trainer, I just wanted to post this in case it happened to anyone else. Please keep up the good work.

I have the same problem, 1-6 keys work but the rest don't
I have followed the readme to the letter.
In the main menu use the 0-6 keys to add Credits/Minerals then
end turn to save the changes.

I can't get these to work.

select the captain, then hold your mouse pointer over him, and just press the button severall times, it should go up, however with exp, you won't gain the skills untill you have fought. like some naturall exp.
