I am using Win Vista Ultimate too, and I also get the "abnormal game exit" message whether I play the campaign or skirmish maps. I get to play for a few mins (sometimes just seconds) and the game locks...have to CTRL+ALT+DEL to get to the task manager and end the game.
I am using the Retail Version of the game with the DVD. Same results. I tried the regular 1.086 with the DVD game right out of the box (which was this version) and it happened there. Then I patched the game to 1.088 and downloaded the new trainer and STILL the same thing happens.
Cannot use the trainer at all. It just randomly freezes when ever it wants and gives the same "abnormal game exit" error message when I exit the game.
Not to nitpick or anything but how did you get the trainer, seeing as your not a paying member.
People who use vista, Need to open PROPERTIES menu for the folder, where the game is installed. Go to Security tab, And Change the Permissions to allow full control. Then run the UAWEA-CH-ON.bat and it will work.
Or to make it even easier.
Goto control panel, user accounts, select account and disable UAC (requires restart)
Do you use Vista, If So right click on it and run as Administration.
No, i'm using XP Pro SP2. Had Vista before, but it ****ed me off way too much and slowed down several games by 30-40%.
I don't know its issue in that...just used the NoCD now and it works now.

The 1.1 basically IS the 1.0.88 patch. Weird i know...don't know what the heck they were thinking.
