I don't think anyone has found the real drift king yet. It doesn't seem that anyone (besides me) is even trying out any of the cheap cars yet. (nudge nudge, wink wink)
I beg to differ. >_>
I knew from the beginning that tuners dominate the drift scene, and its not just a matter of personal taste. Its fact that drifting started with tuners, not muscle cars like the Chevelle SS and the Corvette that were designed for straight-line drags only. I knew that if I wanted a drift car, it would have to be a tuner.
I have tried the AE86, and the reason I sold it is because its main weakness is lack of power. Big time. Even by tuning the CRM and the start/end boost, I could only make out around 470BHP. Whilst it was controllable, and very finely balanced, it needed the extra grunt to get that extra 1000, or even 2000 in a drift race.
I then switched to RX-7. I found it to be even better balanced, and coupled with that extra grunt it was blissful poetry in motion... albeit sideways. I didn't find the extra 1000, I found 3000. My average drift score in the RX is around 3000-7000, depending on the permutations of the drift track.
So I seriously recommend it. Nuckfuts, you will be absolutely blown away.
