I've downloaded alot of stuff people, clothes, houses, everything...i might be getting a new computer for christmas so ill have to start over on the sims(thats fine for me). I want to try an experiment, im thinking of deleting everything in my sims downloads folder. How much do you think that'll change my game? Will my people and homes just be gone or replaces? Will this perhaps speed up my game? Tell me what you think will happen good and bad, please and thanks.

So far, the best site I can find for Sims2 stuff is "modthesims2.com" thesimsresource has the best stuff, but you have to be a subscriber to get the good stuff... so I tend to stay away from them allot!

Well, back in the sims 1 (the last one I can remember deleting things from, and going back to the game) it would simply load the house without any of the downloaded items. I'm unsure how it works in the sims 2, or even how removing a piece of clothing would work. You could give it a try, but be sure to backup your folders before you do anything.

Well in case anyone was curious i deleted the items in my downloads folder. What happened was the game replaced everything custom for example if i had a custom outfit, the game just replaced it with an original outfit. And as to whether or not my game speed increased i think it did, it moves faster and smoother. I dont know if thats because i have less families or what.
