Gears of War Message Board  

Like most of the newer games, I find this one to be following in their footsteps of trying to turn PC games into XBOX, or some other game machine type of game. WASD seems to be becoming the unprecidented way of moving around anymore and I think this method sucks big time. How about those of us who only have one good han? It is a lot more difficult using keys than the old mouse version. Fortunately this one can be modified to use the Right mouse key to move farward, and you can make do with the rest. There doesnot seem to be any cheat codes that I can find, even using the console. Do you actually think MS has left out cheat codes? Unlikely since they are one of the most famous company for listing and including cheat codes. They must be there or will come out in a future patch. It seems unlikely Microsoft is going to belly up on cheats after including them for so many years. So all in all, this game is not the best in the world but it certainly isn't the worst either. Once I can find the cheats or if I use the trainer it works fine for me. No complaints.

Word that. What happened to the good ol' arrow keys and mouse aiming? All these new games are WSAD, which is stupid. Once I'd like to see a new game that is PC specific and not trying to be some Xbox or PS knockoff.

Hey I third that.
Am I the only one that tries to map the mvmt keys to the arrows on the lower Right of the keyboard and then angle the keyboard away from me?
I really dislike the WASD, mostly because I have a hard time taking my Left hand off of the buttons to hit another key, only to struggle to come back to home base.

I couldn't agree with you more. I think this WASD crap started in Europe with European games, even though I can't confirm that. Maybe, if it did, that was their way of trying to be different. That was fine, up until our American companies, especially the ones as affluent as Microsoft picked it up. I think it sucks big time myself. I was perfectly happy with the mouse and arrow keys as controllers and can't see where WASD does a lot of good. Maybe it has something to do with multiplayer online but, I doubt it. It is awfully hard for a person with only one arm to play as well. Some of these companies in a effort to be different, improve their image or keep up with the Jonses have hurt themselves big time in my opinion. I just hope they go back to the old way and let the ones who like the other type of controls go back to playing their console game machines.

you no you can remap the keys i use q,w,a,s and i think u will find that gears of war stated it awesome life on the xbox 360 then on the PC you don't have to use wsad

Getting this game for christmas can you use the arrow keys and mouse if you can't taking it back can someone tell me plz. 🤔

Hey Everyone. I dont understand all of you are saying that you are not!!! able to set the arrow keys for your up,back sideways ect... I was able to.I always use the arrow keys..

You can remap the keys, I did one which was all I needed to do in order to make the game work using the controls I wanted it to. Be warned though, if you have opened the game, the place you bought it normally will not take back games that have been opened, so you'll be stuck with it. Ask someone else who is more up to date on remapping they keys than myself to explain this to you or return the game unopened.
