World in Conflict Message Board  

im having a problem with this mod. every time i have it running just before i get into the game WIC crashes. is there any possible way i could delete all of the files including the patches to world in conflict and just completely reinstall it along with the patches?(i have tried doing the uninstall located on the run screen and reinstalling but the patches are still there along with saved games and such) its the only way i see to getting it to work properly. i am open to other suggestions as long as they arent too complicated, i am very computer illiterate, its a miracle i even knew where to extract the mega trainer files(used to have v 1.001 and it worked fine).

someone please get back to me with accurate information asap.

have you tried using the no-cd fix for 1.003 and/or starting the trainer AFTER the game loads instead of before?

nope, didnt work. it gets to about 75% loaded then the music kicks out and then "windows is searching for a solution to the problem..."

i think it might have to do with how many times ive extracted files into my WIC folder, i probably have about 7 or 8 copies of everything in it but im too afraid to delete anything because im afraid something might get too screwed up and i wont be able to run it at all.

Hmm.. not sure what to tell you other than to maybe make a copy of everything, uninstall, nuke the whole folder (or whatever is left of it) and then reinstall and re-patch.

ok, yeah thats what i was trying to do lol, but regular uninstalling by CD wouldnt do that for me, ill give that a try.

ok, it now works up to getting into the game, i will get the voice 'activated' but nothing happens, no clock freeze, no tactical points added, no resources added.

edit: oops i was using the mega trainer v1.001, forgot to replace the icon on my desktop :P thanks for all of your help, everything is working properly now.

might want to double check your version of game + trainer. Also try the no-cd fix. Typically if you hear activated and nothing happens then something is blocking the trainer like antivirus, Vista permissions, copy protection, etc ... or it's the wrong version.
