    contact the administrator: doesn't work. He's a Windows person, not a mac guy

    But still, I found some instructions, but they don't help me much. I still don't have internet or ethernet

    Host-only support will only allow you to use the Shared Folders configuration between operating systems. You need to use Shared or Bridged in order for it to route to the internet via your Host system's working connection.

    Shared Networking uses Network Address Translation (NAT) to tag and route packet traffic to the correct node, in this case your VMware Guest OS.

    Bridged Networking divides your existing Network Interface Card (NIC) into additional virtual NICs and allocates one to your Guest OS.

    Both should work fine if your Guest OS is Windows or a common distribution of Linux. You will need to use Bridged if you use anything else. Hope that helps!
