I play HG:L from anywhere between 30-45 min and then I get an error telling me that my memory is exhausted and that the app is shutting down.... Before I play I shut down all unecesary programs in the task tray before I play... I dont honestly think I should be getting this error because I have 3 gigs of ram and 10 free gigs on my HDD... any sugestions or am I the only one recieving this error.

Assuming that you are running vista, and have 512mb+ of video memory, this is not a memory leak in the game itself, but an 'oops' with the way windows handles virtual memory addresses. Turns out that it runs out of memory address locations. The good news: there is a hotfix for this issue over at microsoft.com. Specifically:
support.microsoft.com/kb/940105
I highly recommend the hotfix. I run dual 768mb geforce 8800GTX's and couldn't understand why games would crash or 'bog down' after playing for awhile. This fixed the problem and I am back to running at insane framerates, hehe.

i installed that hot fix too and that fixed the problem for vista when running heavy 3d games that drain alot of system resources.

Glad to hear Vista problem solved. However I get the same memory problem on XP sp2 with November update of DX9 and 2 gigs of ram. There is definitely a memory leak as far as my machine is concerned and if you check out the HGL forums you will find countless others with the same problem. Maybe MS will do a "hot fix" for XP users.

A few days ago, I rushed my character into a bunch of enemies (20 or so) and then as usual, my computer started to lag. This was normal but after a few second's battling, my computer froze, yes it totally locked up. I had to reset the computer. Obviously there is a memory leak. After the patch (0,1) my machine is a little relieved anyway.
I have a Sempron64 3100+ with 1 GB DDR ram, video card is GF 6200 TD. Now, sometimes it lags very much but other times it is good.

There is a post over there on the FSS forums from a coder monkey on the dev team. His/Her name is Cellwind, and they go into exact detail as to why it's happening. I can't even begin to try and explain it. There is a fix in the works, from what I read it's getting put thru all the loops of QA to make sure this does indeed fix the problem. Cellwind said we might be able to expect this fix by the end of the month. I guess as of Monday (this past one), they had the patch running on the internal test server and everything was working.
In the mean time there isn't anything really anyone can do about it. They know about it, they got a fix in the works, they're trying to get it out ASAP.
I'd post a link to the thread over there but I'm a lil iffy on the posting of links in threads. Anyway if you got an account just search for the "Cellwind for President" thread and the original poster links Cellwind's comments.

Well when I used to have windows xp installed, I had this program named "hare", it fixed memory leaks and intercept program crashes. I dont know where I got it from but if you can do some online research and find it, it's a very good program. It also free up memory when other programs exit but still leaving their junks in there. It automatically does all that in the background so you dont need to do anything but installing it.
