There was loads of problems with GOW game keeps crashing etc. It came out that it's Windows Live problem... Well at least in my case so if anyone experience the same problem just have a look over here... gearsforums.epicgames.com/showthread.php?t=583712

What worked for me was: unplug net, shut down everything from virus scanner through ATT to firewall, then run the game.
Before, it was stabile for maybe 10-30 sec, now it doesn't crash!
Probably the problem was the quite old version firewall/virus scanner I still use. (2004 pc-cillin, lol)
Oh, and do upgrade your VGA, CPU drivers and dx...

you can have avg 2007 and spydoctor 5.1 and it still crash, a fishing software will always be recognized as a fishing software even if its 2008 version.
