Has anyone managed to install it fine? so far i could just copy the x86 bits into the x64 install folder and play in x86 mode. with the trainer working semi effectively. I can update but the only update link i had is from the x64 launcher and after that i get a completely blank game screen once its loaded past all the add's, same background but no game options at all.
so uninstalled and used the x86 install on dvd, unfortunately without the default setup it doesn't make a language.dat file for you, and i think some other files are missing so i can play x86, can't use the launcher and can't use the update.
at the mo i'm reinstalled x64, then going to try and install x86 to the same folder and hope the language file works with the x86 stuff. unfortunately i think i'll still be at the point where the update will not work for x86 .

i'll check in a second, but i've got a file downloaded called quicklauncherpatch, problem is when i use it, it also says it can't find the langauge.dat file so won't run.
just installed x64 and planned to installed x86 ontop of it, but it detects the install and simply won't run the second install, so i'm gonna grab all the files i think, move to a diff folder, uninstall, install the x86 and see if i can't put in any missing files i need from the saved files.

i can't seem to get anything working, the update seems to detect the system is x64 and even with a x86 game install, after i added the language file it passes the first bit of the update but won't go through the updating individual files and gives a "couldn't find the x64 mp/sp .exe's to update" so thats not a workaround.
i don't suppose anyone could rar up the sp _x86 folder after its been updated, as pre update i can simply add the x86 folders into the install, its just once the x64 stuff is updated that x86 stuff doesn't work. if someone can rar up that folder(those folders tend to be between 20-30mb ish) then hopefully that would work. i just can't physically update those files myself

finally cracked it, install x64, update, find a x32 system, install and update, copy the x86 sp/mp folders, stick in patched x64 install and voila, opening up the x86 versions works, finally on x64 vista. now, i haven't tried the new trainer yet, but i think this is the only way to get patched x86 working on vista 64 as of now. the patcher does what the auto installer does and detects 64bit and just will not patch the x86 files.
EDIT:- so far so good on the trainer working , skill points worked for new character on first level up, and stayed there for one more level up, i think i did about 50 and theres 45 left, just gonna check it saved, then try a few more levels and see if it all sticks. money/attributes work fine as they did before.

same problem here copied over the x86 folders it gave no menues tried to run the patcher again but it still wouldnt update the x86 version.
im going to try to run the update under compatability mode for windows xp to see if it will make it think the os is only 32 bit. but other than that i think we will need to get the updated x86 files from somewere.
ok i tried that it still doesnt work i dual boot so i will install the x86 version under xp later and patch it and see if the the files pre patched work.

try what i did if possible, install on any computer, a friends, next doors wherever, spec doesn't really matter, you have to install a 32 bit copy NOT on 64bit vista/xp, then the patcher will work. when you've got a 32bit copy patched, copy both x86 folders from the game. go back to your 64bit comp, install normally then update, then add the two updated folders into the 64bit install.
thats working perfectly with the trainer for me, using the x86 dx9 .exe . the only problem is having a system to install the other copy on, its a pain in the ass.
but as far as i can tell everything, patcher, installer, if it detects a 64bit os it will only do 64bit stuff, it won't update 32bit parts in the install which is a shame. also means that most likely, all future patches will need updating in the same way.
