First of all, did you even read my posts? Did I not say that I had spent most of the day looking for this trainer or at least one that would do the same thing? Don't you think that might perhaps mean that I already tried all of the trainers available here at cheathappens as well as those available elsewhere, maybe? Don't waste my time with asinine comments please. Secondly, the trainer from nfscars, which AVG reports as a virus, will not run. I said that too. Try reading before posting.
Now, I have a large number of trainers that do a large number of things, but none of them does what I am specifically looking for. I want to be able to unlock and re-lock all cars for purchase from the car lot so that I can buy cars before they are normally available, and also the upgrade parts. I've beaten the game before without cheating, and now that I've reformatted my hard drives I want to be able to use the same cars as I had before without having to go through the whole bloody game again to get them. In the future I'll simply make sure to backup a copy of my savegame, but that won't help me now.
I have found a trainer that seems to be an old version of the trainer I'm looking for, but it's buggy. I can unlock the cars, but if I re-lock the cars and switch cars I cannot switch back to a car that was purchased "illegally", and it crashes the game if you try to switch cars while they are unlocked. This means that you have to unlock the cars, purchase one and drive it right away, re-lock the cars, and never change cars again to be able to continue using the car you just bought through the hack. I also have found a newer version of the NFS:MW Control Panel than the one that is available here (version 1.06 is available here, I found version 2.00 somewhere, possibly at nfscars), and it includes a +11 trainer that is supposed to allow you to unlock and re-lock all cars like I want, but when I try to use that feature by pressing F10 (like you're supposed to) it instead seems to activate the feature tied to F9 and then the game crashes. This indicates that it is changing an incorrect memory location.
Now, I've done some game hacking through memory hacking in the past and would be willing to do so again if someone could tell me what section of memory would need to be changed and what it would need to be changed to in order to unlock all cars (theoretically, changing the memory location back again would re-lock them).
If anyone has anything useful to say on the matter, please let me know.
Thanks,
Drake
