just try getting a new one
btw are you sure you computers fast enough
It's a Dell Dimension 4700 PCI with 1024 of memory and running 2.8 or 2.9MB of speed. Could be peaked to probably 3.0 or better but I haven't had this done yet. I think the speed is enough but the video card I bought last time sure wasn't.
Dells usually aren't the best gaming computers, even if they say they are 'optimized for gaming'. Dells usually have no room to expand, and even then the stock stuff that you cant replace isnt up to par with most gaming rigs. Now, I have no particular knowledge about your specific model...but thats just what I consider most Dells to be.
I agree with you on the gamming computers. Dells are more of a business machine than a gamming machine. The best computers for games if, you can do this on your own is to build your own system as I did last time around. I used that old computer for almost ten years and the only reason I wound up with my current rig is that I couldn't afford to build another one. I bought this one through a rental agency renting till paid in full. Need I say more? I came out pretty lucky in, that, this is the first real problem I have ever experienced using it. At the rate things are going, I'll have to upgrade to another computer pretty soon if I stay in gamming. If games keep coming out based on the WASD European movement system rather than the free camera point and click as I know and love, I'm getting out of the whole mess. Besides how many of us are going to actually be able to afford to keep up with all of this high tech advancement for very long anyhow?
Gaius, my computer is custom made for gaming and it lags on this, my recomendation: turn everything to medium, make the max FPS 30 and the refreshrate around 15. your game performance should improve with no new gfx cards needed. i use an ATI 1650 and it works well with those settings.
Thanks Massive, I'll give that a try.
