My favorite weapon is the GP 37 and armor is the SEVA suit.
On a side note I've found a way to stock up if you're using the 1.0004 trainer to remove the weight restriction. Someone mentioned on another board that they were able to climb the sniper tower at the Freedom base and take out the sniper with their knife without being noticed. This triggered the raid of the base by Duty without that person being involved in the fighting.
I went around and took out every sniper in the same way almost without being noticed. Make sure to save before attempting as one person did see me kill one sniper became my enemey. Anyway, when Duty begins their raid ignore the fighting. Head to the Freedom headquarters and go to the armory as it should now be unguarded. Shoot off the lock and help yourself. Just get out of there before the guard returns.
At that point you can go and gather the weapons of anyone killed in the battle. You should now have the sniper rifles from the guard towers, the grenade launcher, and a GP 37 if Duty had any success at all. You will have all of those weapons without being the enemy of either Freedom or Duty.
