i dont really know, i dont ride horses ever since my black horse ran away at lvl 10(I still miss him )

Yeh, if you have another horse, the one you were previousley using just strolls off to some random place in oblivion, with almost no chance of finding them, in some cases they can be dead.

I was able to have 2 horses at once without either of them wandering away.
