Halo 2 Message Board  

No matter what I do, I can't get Halo 2 to stop crashing. I press F7 and get the "activated message" ... no purple shield, I press F8 and get the "activated message" and when I go to change to my reserve to see if it worked, I crash. Every time. I have tried running the trainer first and then the game, (on a side note, if I "resume" while doing this I get an error message something to the effect of "Current checkpoint does not match checkpoint in save file" I have tried running the trainer first and starting from the beginning of a level, (no error, just crash) I have tried running the game first and resuming and then running the trainer, crash. I have also tried running the game first, starting a level, and then running the trainer, crash. It's maddening. Any help on this would be appreciated, keep up the good work guys.

Did you install the Update Patch #1 on your game? If so, this is why you're having issues. We're going to be releasing an updated trainer that works with the patch soon.

If that's not it, then please read through the trainer troubleshooting guide and make sure you've done everything in there.

I did not install the patch. And I have tried everything the troubleshooting guide recommends. Still no joy. When I push "Q" to switch weapons, the gun on the screen goes down a bit as if it were going to switch, and then freeze, crash, halo 2 encountered an error and stopped working.... yadda yadda yadda, I blame Bill Gates.

Not playing multiplayer are you?

You might try our updated trainer for the patch when it's released and see if you have better luck.

Negative on the multiplayer, campaign level "Delta Halo" I suppose I could wait a bit more. Thanks for the help.

You're not running the trainer or the game in XP compatibilty mode are you? Because it's not necessary for this game/trainer and may cause crashes. You most definitely must run them as an Administrator though.

make sure that you run HALO 2 game normally (no compatability mode, not sure about administrator rights being necessary)

the trainer SHOULD be run with administrator rights and likely the compatability mode isn't necessary.

otherwise, it will not work correctly for some users. if you are still having problems after this, i am not sure how i can help you since we don't have your computer here to peer at what is going on internally in the memory. the way that the trainer works on the unpatched game is the same for the patched version, just slight movement of the code areas.

I am having the same type of problems. Finally downloaded both trainers. One does not work, the other kills the game and I go to the desktop.

Is there a way to get my money back? Or do I just chalk this up to experience?

This is the first time I have paid to join an online site. I joined just for this trainer.

I wish I could get it to work but am unsure as what to do next. My Halo PC Vista version is:file version 1.0.0.11091 with product version 1.00.00.11091.
