Hey everyone.. we're proud to present our first trainer for Halo 2!
THE PUBLIC RELEASE DATE FOR THIS TRAINER IS JUNE 20, 2007. PLEASE DO NOT UPLOAD OR DISTRIBUTE THIS FILE UNTIL AFTER THIS DATE. DOING SO WILL PREVENT US FROM RELEASING UPDATES WHEN PATCHES COME OUT. THANKS!
If anyone has trouble with this trainer, please first check the TRAINER TROUBLESHOOTING GUIDE (www.cheathappens.com/trainer_troubleshooting.asp) before posting questions or comments here.
Please report any issues in this thread so we can track them. New threads created to report problems may be deleted.
Here's the readme on the options:
Halo 2 Vista Trainer ====================
Special Note: Microsoft has implemented anti-cheat routines into the game. These checks occur randomly and if one of them occur at the same moment you're activating an option, it's possible that the game will crash. For this reason, try to limit the amount of times you use each option. We will continue working with the game to try and add more options that are undetectable by these routines and any updates or fixes to this trainer will be posted at WWW.CHEATHAPPENS.COM.
WARNING: THIS TRAINER IS FOR SINGLE PLAYER USE ONLY. ATTEMPTING TO USE THIS TRAINER IN ONLINE OR MULTIPLAYER MODE COULD RESULT IN GAME CRASHES AND/OR THE POSSIBILITY OF YOU BEING BANNED FROM MICROSOFT'S LIVE SERVICE OR SERVERS.
Using this Trainer ------------------ Launch the game first or the trainer first, it shouldn't matter.
Press desired option key
Options -------
Press F7 Activate Ultra-Armor Defense System Press F8 Activate Weapon Enhancement Systems
*Notes ------
For F7, you will see your Armor bar go to a purple color. This indicates that it is working and your armor has been enhanced. Please note that between missions and sometimes during missions where you have a new scene, your armor system may reset. Check periodically to make sure that it remains Purple. Even with large amounts of armor, it is still possible to be killed by heavy damage, usually from very close range. Take this into consideration when using the trainer.
For F8, this activates the reserve weapon ammo refill. This will fill your reserve weapon to 1000 rounds and also give you 1000 more rounds in reserve. Note that this effects the weapon that is in reserve (NOT the one you are using). Press 'Q' to swap between weapons and press F8 to note that the reserve weapon is filled. For alien weapons, this also recharges the energy if it is the reserve weapon. Note that you cannot fill your second (dual weilding) guns.

Awesome! Thanks for this, will a future version include the armor cheat for the Arbiter guy?
edit: Actually, it works but I found that sometimes you have to tap the f7/f8 keys a few times to get the option to activate. Also, don't melee attack those laser drone things because it deactivates all shields instantly.

Okay, another thing I'm wondering about is if MS is trying to use Data Execution Protection as a way to try and thwart cheaters? I've had halo 2 crash twice and it said it was DEP that caused the program to shut down. In its standard options, you can select which programs DEP can ignore and amazingly enough, Halo 2's exe is one of the programs that cannot have DEP turned off.
Anyway, I did some searching and found this link: vista.beyondthemanual.com/2006/11/vista_tip_turn_off_data_execut.html that is supposed to have a way to turn off DEP entirely. I don't need it as I already have anti-virus but use at your own risk. I'm going to try it some more tonight and see if it crashes again.

Thanks for the info killingwax. We found that Microsoft is doing random checks within the game to see if the code has been altered (possibly having to do with some of the online anti-cheat stuff they have in place) and it's quite possible they're using DEP to handle it. We had about 6 more options already done for the trainer but couldn't safely pull them off with these random checks in place. Like you, we attempted to turn off DEP through Windows, but no go. We never tried the hack as we didn't know if users would be willing to entirely disable this system level protection option or not, but would certainly be interested to know if it changes anything or not.
