I downloaded this cheat trainer on 28th May 2007 14:24pm and i extracted it and it set on my desktop it said it could work anywhere so i just left it on my desktop and started the trainer up i read the read me file and i understood everything.
Once i started my game up and loaded my last saved mission i set off to destroy these cargo carriers and i activated the infinite health and then i heard this women say cheat activated and then the screen went blank and then the game crashed =S i started my game back up and went back to that mission, this time i didn't use the infinite health i used the instant reload and i fired randomly to see if it worked and it didn't (by the way I'm in a ship in this mission) then i used that freeze world and that didn't work everything was still moving. Then i used that Massive Damage cheat and that didn't work also i shot and the ships and it still did the same amount of damage when the cheat wasn't activated.

Your game version is probably different than the trainer version.

and what version is the cheat trainer version?

Just like it says, it's for the original version with NO patches applied.
