I've had Oblivion for 2 days now, easily one of the best games I've ever played; yet easily one of the glitchiest games I've ever played...
Just today I tried booting up my PC, it got to the login screen and then showed the BSOD saying something about an "unpaged memory error" or similar...
I've tried rebooting it and it just does the same thing, I've tried taking out the ram and running in safe mode.
I'm keeping system retore as a last resort, any help on the issue would be great...

Well it certainly would seem the cause...
I've never had anything like this before, I assumed that Oblivion was taking up the unpaged memory...
This is where it gets tricky, i can't uninstall or do anything to the Pc coz as soon as it boots up it shows the BSOD and restarts on a constant cycle...
I'm going to try booting up using The WINXP bootdisk, but I've tried changing everything. Taking the ram out, swapping them, slowing down the processor, even running the fail safe defaults in safe mode! resetting the BIOS doesn't work either.
I'll tell u if i make any progress...

    BSOD message: "PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA"

just an update, from running Winternals I've concluded that C drive is CORRUPT. It still may/may not be a result of Oblivion, I'm desperately trying to save the drive...

I have to say i highly doubt it was oblivion. Dose it have the Shivering Isles pack as well? If so there is a bug but i have never read anything about it corrupting your C drive.

I'm posting from a laptop, it's okay for homework and REALLY light gaming...
Shivering isles has a bug which could break your PC (I think) something about the memory but a patch sorts all that...
I think it could've been a random error, or bad luck. Anyway I've had worse, I've had smoke pouring out the hard drive...
    I haven't been gaming for 24 hours!!
