go into the market district and go into the imperial commerce building, talk to the lady and ask to buy a house for 2000 gold, then go to the three brothers trade goods to buy the upgrade things

i have bought all houses in all towns but my one question on them all is how the hell do i put items in the display cases because all i can do is open them and close them?

you open the display case and drop an item, then move it in

Move the mouse on the selected item and press z don't relese it. Put it where you wan't and then relese it(or press it again).

Or you could just download certain mods, which have custom houses, these are usually extravagant, large, and the price shows.
