And now i've found out what's wrong! (This fix is for nVidia users ONLY!]
Go to your Dawn of War (and/or Dawn of War Dark Crusade) installation folder. Go into the Drivers directory and open the spdx9_config.txt file.
Scroll down to the Nvidia section and modify the first three sections to change 'allowdevice 0' to read 'allowdevice 1' as shown below:
;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;; ; ; nVidia ; begin vendor 0x10DE
configfile nvidia.txt'
; disable drivers prior to version 52.16 (previous versions have quirks with directx 9 in win98)
begin version 0x0000 0x000D allowdevice 1 end begin subversion 0x0000 0x0009 allowdevice 1 end
begin build 0x0000 0x1459 allowdevice 1 end
;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;
Save the file and everything works again.
Basically Relic were stopping certain older drivers from running the game, but their method of doing so accidentally causes the new drivers not to work either. Relic are aware of this problem and are going to release a patch in due course. But simply modifying the file not to ban any drivers does the trick!
Remember to re-run the graphics configuration utility when you have saved the new file.
=================={Original Message}===================== Today i just tried installing this on Vista and i got a Direct X error telling me to install the latest Direct X (LOL) so anyway... Does any of you guys know a way to fix this?
A few mins on google and i saw someone who said that older GFX drivers could solve it, but i'm not feeling like downgrading, so i wonder if anyone know the issue and may have a solution for it...

I got vista on my new computer, used it, then removed it. Made too many problems for me. Probably install it when Microsoft stops updating Xp.

well of all the games and apps i've tried on vista now i only had 3 problems... 2 apps that isnt written for x64 yet and then this game.
but i like vista's interface so i ain't going back now.
i guess i'll google a bit more for a solution, or ill just upgrade my laptop with some more RAM to be able to run it.
