Go to skirmish mode and make it so your the only one on the battle field. You can build and recruit without any troubles. it can also help you find troll or goblin caves that infest the area, so you can destroy them fast when your playing the real thing. build every building, battalion or ship you can and play around. you will discover different tactics to use in story mode. such as advance flanking or sending troops into battle. it takes aot of time, but its accurate and fun enjoy!
