I Dled the trainer for Sword of the stars, then Dled verision 1.1.1 but I had no mouse arrow so had to upgrade to 1.2, Is there away to edit the trainer or make a new one to work with 1.2? Or if there is one for version 1.2 can you show me where?

At this time I don’t think they have a better version for the game yet. In fact it looks like people may have given up hacking this game for now. If you generate enough buzz then you might get them to react.

Great, it's a fun game, I just want a way to do research faster and get money, I love building and doing the designs. Typically I just grab a dozen systems fast as I can then sit back and le the Ai players kill each other while I do research and fortify my worlds building up large fleets and what not. I tried doing a trainer myself....bad game to start out on.

Well there is one method that I have tried myself which allows you to use Dragon Unpacker. This idea was given to me by another member, so by no means am I taking any credit. He did all the work so I figure he helped me so I should help you. I would recommend getting Dragon Unpacker, and this in turn will allow you to edit the stats of your ships. Not only do you build them faster but they can be stronger, travel farther and so on. Give it a try I think you might like it. Oh and if you find some other goodies, be sure to share with the rest of us. There are still a few people that love this game myself included.

I doubt I will come up with anything I am the definition of novice. But thank you for the tip and I will try it. However if I do come across anything I will post it here.

That's cool; we all started as novice at one point in time. But I still think you should give it a try, it is actually not as hard as you think. It’s mostly editing text files that the application extracts. Once you figure out what each heading means, which is easy by the way, you will then just change the values to what you like. I just edited their price, and their sped and health. I was doing ownage across the galaxy with mediocre ships versus some really badass technologies that the others had. Try it, you just done know till you see it. Let me know if you need any more help.

I played areound with Dragon Unpacker andfigured out a few things, Idon'tknow if it isanywhere else orif othersknow it but here it goes. Using dragon unpacker extract the sots.gob file to My documents, then get get rid of the one in the Sots folder, and replace it wiht the extracted version. You will now be able to acess all the files in it with out needing Dragon unpacker. Make sure to name the file folder Sots until you place it backin the main folder of Sword of Stars, then rename sots.gob. The file I have been experiminting on is is the Mastertechlist (Make sure to always make a back up copy of the files you edit.) in the folder TechTree. There are two things you can do, The first is changing the RP (Or research production...I assume.) Do no change the number of digits or game with crash instead just move values around. IE: RP: 12000 to 00500 this will make it a one turn research. I haven't tried making it all zeros yet. the Second thing you can do is the after the RP number it will say something like this typically Human: 60 Hiver: 70 Takara: 40 Liir: 30 To deny a tech to the other races give them all 00 and to all but guarntee you get it give whatever race you want to play a 99. The other file easy to edit is the weapons file. DO NOT edit anything in this file unless you want the other races to have the same beefed up weaponry.
