I wish there was a way for us to edit the costs of items for the peasants to purchase like in 1503 The New World. There was a location in one of the game files that you could go into and increase the price for items peasants bought and they would pay it and you would not go into debt or lose money. I like this new game but with all the problems it's having it sucks. I liked having the actual stalls the people could buy stuff from. The graphics and all that are great in this one, but he playability is very frustrating at times. I can't make enough food or alcohol fast enough and I have the highest level of market places going. It's just a very frustrating game.

If that's the case you're building too many houses and maybe even letting them upgrade before you have stable production chains. Build a few houses, then check your levels of supply, when it's stable or rising you can build a few more.
This game takes many hours so don't rush things.
I have completed all scenarios and have played continous games for many, many hours so the reason for me getting a trainer is not because the game is hard, but because I've played it 'til death...
