Issuing the new patch was ok, I suppose, even though it didn't get some of the things I wish it had, like bringing back Swiss Pikemen and other missing units and, and this is the biggie. It rendered my excellent trainer which I downloaded from here at Cheat Happens, worthless. When I try using it now, the game crashes. I've tried playing the game without the trainer and, it isn't any fun at all. This means I can do one of two things, three really. I can either wait for Cheat Happens to update the trainer, try to find out how to mod this stuff as I did in Rome Total War, or remove and reinstall the version without the patch. I never experienced any of the problems I've heard other people complain about, the game always worked fine for me so, it should still do so. That would be my suggestion to those of you out there who never had that many problems and downloaded the patch just to keep up with the times as I did. To me, at least, the patch doesn't do anything the original version didn't do with the exception of fixing a few problems I didn't need fixing to begin with such as cavalry charges, reducing gunpowder effects, etc. none of which I can't do without. I might download the patch again if Cheat Happens patches the trainer to work with Sega's new patch. Otherwise if I don't mod the game myself, I'll use the original version as it is, unpatched.
