Drop the two .ds2res files into Resources folder. Go to the magic shop in Eirulan and buy it. When you buy it don't delete the files because we will face problem. I don't think so that if you have other mods they don't work all together. But you can try to delete them (if you have other mods) and let only the two files of amulet of dead. Before you try anything make a backup of your saved game.
P.S. If you play the version 2.2 then pprobably the mods won't work. You can see the version of the game in start menu
