All of the cheat codes work and the trainer from Cheat Happens is great but, all in all, I am still disenchanted with the new version of an old game. When I played the first Medieval Total War I was infatuated with it for three months or more before loosing interest and moving on. It has been less than a week since I purchased Total War II and I am already tired of it. I never thought this would happen from what I had read and seen of the game but, it did. The game is similar in many ways to its' predecessor and different in others and, it is a great game with excellent graphics, a good campaign and ease of play but, all in all this still hasnot been enough to keep me glued to the console and, now I am bored with it. I can't quite put my finger on what is missing but, the game has failed to include that special little something that would continue to hold my interest in playing and, like others I assume, I feel as if I have been playing the game for a hundred years and am no longer interested in it.

The lack of units is perhaps what it is. Ive noticed the lack of units from the begining and ive been continuously put down by the games lack of depth for instance, france and spain can have crossbowmen but nearly no one else has them !!! its the same with gunpowder troops that are horribly placed. The game also needs more random events to keep evry turn fresh Like say The black plague touches a settlement and x amount of people are killed or maybe a mercenary raid kills a charachter or somthing. I can understand how you feel. Looking back to the past days of Medieval total war 1 i recall that along with the units there was real unit descriptions, about 10-15 more events infite amounts of castles (somthing that i miss in M:TW 2) that isnt all either the customizability of the castles was excelent in Med:TW 1 while in #2 i feel as if im being left out. the soloution : heavy patching or a huge realisim/ unit mod. Lets hope this dosent kill the game since its engine and combat modes are so advanced and perfect.

Why this game is boring ??? Simple cuz this game is lack of interesting point and it doesn't usually that there is a sequel for same Total War series
And the MTW2 lost its most important point from the MTW ! Every city is same with other city, the only difference is only the income and the popluation it has !! In MTW 2, there are many city that have a special unit that can even turn the balance of war, no more like that in MTW 2 It is dissapointed to know that Paris and Stauffen is similiarly same, bah..
And I very agree with lack, very lack of events in MTW 2
Plus why in MTW, German have Swiss pikemen and now in MTW 2 there is no but France had it ??? WTF ??? Where is Swiss Armoured Pikemen ??? where is the famous Gothic Sergeant ??? where is the famous Black Rider merc??? And I doesn't understand with German strength -> Strong all around ??? what the meaning of that ??? Even there is only useless peasant archer for German !!!
And the weakness of England is -> lack of cavalry despite there is more cavalry type than German ??? And there is too many Italian faction for this game with many similiary or even exactly same units!!! Bah...
And why we always can't control the naval battle ??? Bah... even the Koei Romance three kingdom series became more and more depth and good with very lots of strategy variance and diplomacy, and what happen with MTW 2 ??? Still truly lack of depth strategy and diplomacy variance !! As a long enough fans of Total War series, its clearly that there are more that can be exploited in MTW 2
But its good too to try combine the animation movie from Shogun Total War with the Rome Total War series too !
