I can't complete the third test from Tony Alva in Santa Monica where he asks you to bert slide the entire ramp w/o hitting the cones. Even if I avoid the cones, my skater always stands up half-way down the ramp, which seems to negate the trick. I even applied the 'always special' cheat to see if that would help, but I can't do the bert slide all the way down. Is there some secret to this I'm missing?

Ok, I finally figured out what I was doing wrong.

If you're having trouble with this, don't start your bert slide right away, just make sure you start it by the first single cone or so. That's what was killing me on this.

And if you want to cheat a little, use the 'always special' cheat (uronfire) and go into focus mode before you start the bert slide. It makes it easier to control.

I think the best way to do this mission is as follows:
press and hold X + R1 to make your skater duck and ready to do bert
then right before the first cone, push left analog to the right and left fast and continuously so your skater make a 'weird' bert slide right and left. and if you move not quite fast and your skater about to stop bert-sliding, do a manual for the rest of rampway and land it after the last cone-gate.
it works for me ll the time.

you dont need to start at the first cone, well you do but if you have a ps2 just hold x and i think its R2 but anyway just hold it going down but at the last 2 cones, start turing really little, not a whole turn.

i found a great solution for this.. those who cant bert slide in santa monica from tony alva.. all you need do is start bert slide when the start word appear on your screen and before completing the bert slide jump and do the manual.. balance on manual until u reach the goal and jump.. and there you go..
