legal copy of BFME 2 need trainer help!

I have the legal copy of BFME 2. I dl and used the no cd fix v1.04 also the v1.04 trainer. Now i run the trainer then run the game but it wont work. I dont know what else to do. Do trainers only work with illegal copies? I hit f1 first then lets say x but nothing. plz help!
