Just Cause Message Board  

I've been reading loads about this game in various ps2 magazines and they were all sayin how amzin this game is turning out 2 be. Bought the game last week and after playin for a few minutes i came 2 the conclusion that this game has suffered from Driv3r syndrome. The graphics look very clunky and looks like it could easily be a PSOne game!
But i'm gonna stick with it as the map is massive and there seems to be plenty 2 do. I just get the feelin they concentrated on the xbox 360 and pc versions more than the PS2 version.

dude i know how you feel just as you said all might aswell made the ps2 version of this game for the ps1

you don't actually see that the game is brilliant, that's your problem.
If you actually knew anything you'd realise the fact that the ps2 doesn't have the power to run just cause at that quality.
while the graphics look ps1-ish the world is too massive for the ps1 to cope with.
so don't go around saying its a bad game. the ps2 just needs a more powerful successor.

I never said it was a bad game. I know that the PS2 cant cope with graphics similar to pc or xbox 360. i was disappointed because of the coverage the game had, i was expecting it 2 look a lot better, i guess the magazines were not usin PS2 screenshots. But as i said in my 1st post, i'm gonna stick with it coz the game looks massive with loads to do. I'm really startin 2 get into this game now so and i've enjoyed wot i've played so far especially usin the grapple hook and being pulled around by anything that moves

Just Cause is a good game.
Why?
Well the map is fricking huge for starters + well worth investigating.
Secondly - unlike some games when u jump from a plane, u Do lose health or die like I did when u dont open ure parachute - or lose health when u collide or dont land properly on a building when using your parachute.

And Finally - dont try this, I did and died - if u fly or use a helicopter and go to the island on the bottom right hand corner of the map - the presidential house is there and they have coastguards, snipers, auto turrets, apache skreemers, foot soldiers and tanks there + they will happily shoot ur ass dead.

Now maybe its just me, but I think that thats impressive.
I know the PS2 cant cope with the map and the graphics are a bit sketchy, but that aside, this game is it.

My views are that this game ticks all the boxes :

Free roaming function
Decent story line
Lots of side missions
Cool explosions
Jumping out of planes/cars/tanks/gyrocopters - anything
BEST OF ALL : lots of rewards for doing missions like guns, upgrades and much cooler transport - Im loving the Skreemer helicopter:so much destruction to be had.

But this is just my views on things people - if u dont agree with me then its fine,everyone is allowed there opinion.
Just do me a favour folks - give the game a chance and see the game as the creator did when making it, u might just change ur views on it.

this game is awsome,even tho the main story is only 20 missions long.the map is huge! pleanty 2 keep u entertained. i wud like 2 no if there is actually any cheat codes 4 the game? latrs ppl

The only solution is to ditch the ps2 and get a REAL system. Even the PC version is better than the ps2 version. haha

Of course the PC version is better thatn the PS2 version duh!
