I was just wondering what y'all think is the best way to beat the dark Valefor. I was thinking of using Yojimbo, paying him alot for zanmato, but i'm not too sure. My stats are not that great...Hehe, Auron is my best, and thats only 40k damage with critical. All help appreciated.

Start the fight with Rikku, Tidus and Wakka with First Akkack in each of their weapons and their ODs' full. Have Rikku combine two Winning Formula to make a Trio of 9999 then have Wakka use Attack Reels and have Tidus use Blitz Ace.
If you do this correctly, you should have taken 200,000 HP of DValefor at the start of battle.
Now switch Wakka for Auron and have Rikku use Fire, Ice, Thunder or Water gems (50,000 damage each), have Auron and Tidus heal and attack.

You get Wakka's Attack Reels by playing Blitz Ball. You can get Tidus' Blitz Ace by using his OD 80 times (in total). You can steel Fire gems from the grenades at Mt. Gagazet. You can substitute Doors to Tomorrow for the Winning Formulas; you can steel Doors to Tomorrow from Ultima Weapon.

Ah, I got alot of doors to tomorrow, and attack reels now, just lots of fire gems and blitz ace...which will take ages.

Go to the Thunder Plains and give Tidus something that protects against lightning (Lightning proof/ eater) and find a Larva or a Gold Element.
Have your other two characters run from the fight and have Tidus defend until he learns the OD Loner and kill off the remaining monsters or have him run.
With the loner OD gauge as long as Tidus fights alone his OD gage will increase by 1/5 every turn.
You'll only need a maximum of about 10 Fire Gems as you won't be able to continue the 9999 damage per hit once the character dies.
You'll have to use other characters and Aeons to finish off DV as this strategy will only work for a few turns (eg, your first two) but will give you an early advantage against DV.
