This topic is just a list for people who are veterans in COD2. (this means you have beaten the game on veteran difficult...yes every single mission). Post here with your gamertag to get it listed. also if you need help with acheiving the rank of cod2 vet, just ask here and some current vets will help you out with your troubles.

I've completed COD2 in EASY, NORMAL, HARD, and I'm 70% of the way through now in the VETERAN mode. I'm in the one where you climb the cliff after arriving from the sea. I have no problem at all killing the snippers on the cliff and climbing the rope to the top. That is where I hit the first checkpoint. But from then on, I can not get to the second checkpoint. I've played for five days on this one small section... hours upon hours. I've tried going in through the center. Also have tried the left and right sides. Nothing works. What I found the best so far is to take out (with the Springfield snipper rifle) the huge machine gun on the distant right, and the distant single machine gunner in the center horison. Then go through the center all the way to the last (left to right) fox hole with all the Germans. Then throw several smoke granades..... and I can come close to getting to the checkpoint but not quite. This is driving me crazy. Heck, 70% through the VETERAN mode, and I can't get to the second checkpoint. Any advice? I'd appreciate it. Thanks.

i have only got d-day on vet is very very very hard but all so worth it

ive beat it on vet mode not really all that hard it just takes patience but i dont have online capabilities (dial up) so i cant show you my gamertag

I got through in the Vetern mode through D-DAY. Then it took me to CAEN. Got through that (in Vetern) and it goes back to the very beginning! Crap. So I played all the way through Caen again, and the same thing. Even though I beat it it won't take me to the next level! I called Microsoft... "Well it is'nt our problem. Call Activision". There is nothing on Activision's web site (that I can find) with a fix. I'm surprised you could get through to the end... even though I won the right to continue, it takes me to the very beginning.
Right now I'm not happy with MS or Activision. Something is buggy somewhere.

When I say the "beginning" I mean to the Russian Winter War, TRAINING LEVEL. What a bummer. Plus all the levels inbetween are locked (in Veteran) although I've beaten them.

dont worry about the big mounted guns on the left on the level d-day ( all they do is respawn) just take out real people. I know that the respawn because i was taking cover in one of the cement areas where they have the fake 88s and i was in prone and i moved foward towards the first 'step' and you could move through the cement and kill peopel from underground. Its quite fun for the first 2 minutes lol.
