E-mail me a copy of the savegame and I'll take a look at it, it's possible you've put the file in the wrong folder or the file itself is corrupt.
E-mail to: x3check[at]demon.plus.com (with at @ instead of [at], obviously.)

I believe the savegame needs to go here:
C:\Documents and Settings\[User Name]\Egosoft\X3\save
...see if that helps.

So, what are your savegames named? X00.sav? I've seen another separate savegame for this game and it was named exactly the same as the one we have for download. Maybe it's a version conflict and the game cannot read savegames from other versions.
In the world of cheats nothing is guaranteed. There are too many variables involved.

ah, yes. it's under the filename X01.sav...similar to x2 save game (X09.sav) i haven't actually saved any games played so far. maybe if i save, then either replace the original or copy, paste into the save game itself & play around with the variables a bit. hopefully get it to work somehow. thanks for the advice markyboy a.k.a darthbox

I think you nailed it. You probably have to create a save or two and then replace it with the file from our site. If the game doesn't think you've ever saved it may not look at any files in that directory. Would be interested to know if that works for you. thx...
