Nope they can't. This is because they do not age either so they don't die..

Double-Edged sword, if time passed, you would get puupies but then the others will die (hell, they may not have puppies at all)

i dont think they can hav puppies but i red a way they can but i havent tried it yet...
u hve 2 leev a girl dog and a boy at home without a nufer dog. leav ds 4 exactly a week and turn yr ds on. yr dogs fur will look darker and in 5hours she should hav puppies! dont leev puppies for a hour or the mum will eet them!
p.s i dont no if this works but im gonna try!

Yes, your Nintendog (s) can die, you know the "pull rope"? Well, swing it too and fro when you dog is holding onto it, a romour has it that your dog then dies
