After a while scars go away but they dont look dumb. And besides you only get scars if you cant hold your ground and get bashed on.

besides unless if you have the health amulate and a alot of defense i dont think your going to beat strong monsters witout a shirt or armour i would recomend the plate armour that makes you look like a knight

or if dark dark plate armour can be bought at twin blades camp you can also get scars during the quest inside the jail if you choose the wrong book
