I'm playing on Steam.

Also, more info, if I activate the trainer during the "verifying shaders", it gets into the "press any button" screen but even when I press buttons, I actually do not get off that screen.

Even when I finish making a new character, as soon as I want to start, it also gives me a "new game error" (see attached).

I am also playing on Steam don't experience this issue.
But I always activate (F1) in Menu or in-game.
