Isn't this pre-release / Windows Insider build? Could be a bug in it. We don't offer support for beta/preview builds.
Understood, this is the risk of running Preview builds. However I do not run beta builds (windows update + driver updates suuuuuck), so this should be the same as the full release and I am far less likely to run into bugs that are not in the full version.
So can we keep this topic open until Build 26100.1591 into full release, and see if still an issue? I just am not sure if I am canary warning the next release of 11 is borked, this specific to my PC, or if this is going to be fixed in the next couple weeks by MS.
Also this the build I am on:

P.S. the only thing not working is the sound, all trainer functionality works. I honestly did not realize the trainers were not notifying me when I hit F1 for a couple days.

It needs the legacy windows media player. As the registry key is missing its either not installed or the installation is corrupted. Try and (re)install it. You can find it under the "Turn Windows Features on or off" section and then "Media Features" I think.
If that doesn't help run the sfc /scannow command in terminal.
I went into control panel -> Programs and Features -> Turn Windows Features on or Off -> Media and it was checked.
Hit my my system with sfc, and it did find a few errors but nothing related to media player. Rebooted, and still no sound. Oh and I have fast boot disabled for my home domain, as well as hibernate on the desktops.
What I suspect is legacy media player functionality was removed from this version of windows, or I get to dig around with Terminal to see what flags I can no longer access via control panel or settings.
Any more ideas where I should dig next?
Like I said, uninstall WMP. Uncheck, reboot, check, reboot, try again. It is absolutely unlikely that Microsoft removes the legacy WMP. All applications using windows APIs to play sounds (like Aurora) would stop working.
So either you try and fix it yourself or you wait for Microsoft to fix it in next update (if they broke it with a previous update).
For some reason my reply disappeared . I did get this fixed, but it was MS doing something that should probably be stuck in FAQ or KB on this site for users.
1) The settings you need have been moved to:
Settings -> System -> Optional Features -> Add an optional feature -> view features
Then look for "Windows Media Player Legacy (App)" and install it.
2) Reboot (assuming fast boot is off) and should be fixed.
2) This was uninstalled with the Win 11 24h2 update, per my update logs. More precisely the update removed the one I had installed from the control panel. Because MS is slowly trying to deprecate Control panel and move everything to settings. 🤡
