Only thing I could recommend is to not use the Easy Upgrades. Instead to make upgrading process easier and avoid potential of messing your save would be to use the Amount edit feature.
Just find the items used for upgrading and give yourself more of them. You'll need to find at least 1 of that item which will mean the game is at a stage where this upgrade is possible but you need to grind/find more of the materials.

If it helps at all, based on that replacement save (thanks by the way!) Ship wise don't touch the Laser Turret's or Aux Systems, as neither are unlocked normally unless you have easy upgrades activated.

Can you please put a remove upgrades option into the trainer, this would allow you to temporarily disable what you've done to progress in the story. Way too many people are going to have this problem even if you've warned it in the text.

Go in to your inventory and go to your credits. the value of credits will show in "amount" then you can edit accordingly.

If it helps, there is a note in the instructions that tell you not to use the easy upgrades until you modify your ION Blaster

is it just me or when i use trainer health gets broken like i have low health and stuck with can use hp packs i even started new game
