For those that are still having problems running the launcher before and/or after Steam starts the game, I am able to get the game going with the trainer if I do the following:
1. run the game from steam
2. run around on the ship
3. run Helldiver2Launcher
4. hear three beeps
5. wait for Steam to tell me the game is already running
6. run Helldivers2Launcher again
7. listen to three beeps
8. run Aurora
9. run Helldivers2Launcher again
10. listen to three beeps
11. run and attach the trainer inside Aurora
I was able to get this going with this method three times but it still failed once. Oddly the trainer locked up when activating on the fail but the game had no issues. I don't know if every step needs to be done but running launcher multiple times seems the most consistent on my install. I was able to run six missions without crashing. Again try this only if running the launcher after the game starts consistently fails.
I suspect this is a performance issue and the launcher needs to be run at a specific interval after the game has started or before Aurora or the trainer is loaded. However, I don't know how the launcher is patching out Game Guard so this is just a guess on my part.
Good Luck!

just tried that. it doesnt work sadge
I got it to work a couple days ago, but after having an error and crashing this no longer works. The game runs normally without aurora. Is there a good bypass anyone recommends?
If it fails you might have to delete BIN, verify the game and then redo all the steps.

currently unable to use my keyboard, mouse, or controller to interact with the game when launching it through the modded launcher, no issues using the steam launcher. Mod worked fine before they updated it on Oct 1st
Literally 10 posts telling you alternate way to run the launcher.. like pages of it
