Steamdeck Freezing on Steam Deck Discussion Message Board - Page 1

Hello all, I purchased the aurora installer and everything went smoothly there. I'm having an issue with the steam deck essentially freezing when a game is launched with aurora. Holding the steam button allows the mouse to move again but I can't click anything on the aurora launcher. I've had one game work somewhat successfully (ED-0 Zombie Uprising) and everything else just freezes and I have to force quit. Any suggestions or links to this topic? Any help or direction is appreciated. Thank you!

Make sure Developer mode is enabled in the Steam Deck settings. Then on the games settings change your display settings to windowed or borderless. If that doesn't work play on desktop mode.

I'll take a look at developer mode but I'm pretty certain I have it enabled from a long time ago. I found another thread mentioning the windowed mode and thats how I was able to get ED-0 working but barely. I have to actually tap the screen a bunch of times and finally got the Aurora window to come to the foreground and a million more taps let me hit the first cheat. After that it was inaccessible. I'll keep trying and I appreciate the insight!

If you're connected to the internet you can also use the mobile app to open trainer and toggle options. Then you dont have to switch windows and use steamdeck for that.

I downloaded the app and logged in but it doesn't connect to any trainers when I try to choose a game and load the trainer. It eventually just times out for me. May be that it’s meant more for the pc than the steam deck? Probably not but I’m not sure. Either way that’s not working for me either. Thank you for the suggestion.

I have had to enable Developer mode three times because some updates turn it off.

You must connect with the Aurora to the mobile server too. Click on the red mobile icon at the left side. There is also an option in the settings to auto connect on start which is what I recommend on Steamdeck. Once Aurora is connected open the mobile app and connect there too. Then you can choose your trainer.
