They didn't state that it is due to it being multiplayer. The description on the trainer page reads:
"We previously evaluated this title and a trainer was not possible or the game is multiplayer/online only so it has been marked as RETIRED."
As such, it could be that it was not feasible to make a trainer for it at the time of evaluation due to reasons that are not related to multiplayer. For example, it could be due to the way the game is coded.
