XP Multiplier:
Value can be customized after trainer activation. While active your gained XP is multiplied by 4.

Reveal Map:
Activate option and then move once and the map is revealed

Change Quantity:
Open your inventory and click on an item like gold. Press hotkey and reopen your inventory to see it has changed

Change Feats Points:
Open the 'Feats' page of a character. Press hotkey to add more points. Reopen the page to see it has changed.

Mute Hotkeys:

To temporarily disable the Hotkeys, press CTRL-H after trainer is
activated. You can use CTRL-H to re-activate the Hotkeys as well.
You can also mute specific hotkeys by changing the hotkey you want to mute to 'NONE'.

I'm getting a failure when attempting to activate the trainer at the main menu

15:42:53: Successfully attached to SKALD Against the Black Priory
15:42:54: combat, Script error in line 11: Cannot find aob for 'originalcode_5556'

Does your game version match the trainer version? Are there any special instructions that need to be followed? Are you running Aurora as admin? Not doing that can cause issues for a lot of trainers. Did you extract Aurora as opposed to just running it? Have you reinstalled/verified the game files? Have you restarted you computer before trying the trainer again? Have you set the anti-virus exclusions for Aurora?

I had a theory that it was combat related but doesn't seem to work. As when I first activated the trainer I was in combat and the second time (As I didn't get Trainer battle points) I wasnt in combat. But that doesn't seem to work and I loaded several saves.

I get the same error so I am not entirely sure what the problem is.

Did you get the GoG version? I got the same error codes on that version. Sometimes the Steam trainers don't work on GoG versions, some times they do, for some reason.

Nope, Steam version all the way. I shows "pre-launch 1.0.3d" and it worked at one point but now every subsequent time I try to activate it. It doesn't work.
Even loaded prior to where I activated it last time and still nothing.
