Hello, I've managed to get it working several times, both with and without luck, but now it has permanently failed (even after downloading the new launcher). I've followed the tutorial 100%, and I don't understand how some people manage to get it working. I can send the steps via a screen recording.
I copied the Helldivers2Launcher.exe file, which Aurora provides, to my bin folder (varies depending on where you installed steam:
G:\Steam\steamapps\common\Helldivers 2\bin
I have steam running in the background but I don't interact with it.
I have Aurora running and open to the trainer page. You do NOT use the 'Launch Game' button at any point.
I run the Helldivers2Launcher.exe file by double clickin on it in file explorer.
The first of 3 beeps happens and I wait.
The second of 3 beeps happens as the trainer detects the game running.
About 2 or 3 seconds later I click 'Activate Trainer' .. the game launches and then I hear the third of 3 beeps.
I don't touch **** until I see the game screen appear. Not the black one, the one with text or any screen after.
This works for me about 80% of the time. I always replace the Helldivers2Launcher.exe with each new trainer release. I don't know if that's needed or not, but I do it.
All that being said, I can get into the game often enough, but I crash during the hellpod drop about 5 out of 6 tries currently. I have no way to know if that's on the game side or the trainer side. If I had to bet I'd say the game though - it's had so many stability issues with or without. Good luck!

I did like you do and got it working, I had a shortcut to launcher.exe before, not sure if that was the reason, or is it just pure luck. Did activate game with button in trainer, not with F1. Nice to have it working again.
As an additional measure completely re-installed the game.

He's how i got it working.
1 delete the old launcher
2 then put the new one that's all
Pretty much this, did this and worked like a charm.
